Better on Film

Everything is better on film. Yep, its true.  While I love digital photography, theres nothing that hits that creative sweet spot quite like film.  Despite the fact that it's 1. totally impractical and 2. totally expensive, it's so much fun to play around with.  Especially when coupled with an incredible artistic eye, like Jessica's.

I recently inherited a film camera from my Grandpa, a massive Canon F-1, with a 2lb external battery and all.  It's huge, to say the least. I think it's one of the bigger film cameras out there.  I've only just gotten around to playing with it, and I'm having so much fun. It's so vastly different than digital, not just because of how complex it is (if you think you understand aperture, wait until you try shooting film) but I love a challenge, and it's just that: a challenge.  I'm hoping that, once I really get my footing, I can "upgrade" to the much more travel friendly Canon AE - 1 , but we'll see. ;)

Anyway, I just wanted to pop on and share some of these photos from recent shoots with Jessica.  I guess you can call them "outtakes"- or, if you want the real story, you can call them "the photos that we thought were lost but ended up being on a  random roll of film in Jessica's fridge".  That's the funny thing about film: you never know what you're going to get, or where the photos are going to go.
