Casting Spells

Dress: Zara, sold out. // Hat: Urban Outfitters, old. // Bag and Shoes are Julia's

Some may say this is more of a "fall" look, and while I would agree, this is a look I would wear all year 'round! I got this dress from Zara during Black Friday last fall (for a whopping $12!) and it's quickly become one of my favorites.  It's no secret I love a LBD, but the trumpet sleeves on this one just give this dress so much life! I've dressed it up with chunky heels (see this Instagram post from the Collectively event in February) and I've dressed it down with ballet flats.  It's super versatile and looks great either way, which makes it one of my favorite staples in my closet.  Although, while it's soft and comfortable and practical in theory, these sleeves are a bit of a pain.  Meaning, trying to eat with them always ends in a disaster.  You've been warned: don't try a bell sleeve when you know you're going to eat (especially if you're going to be eating with your hands... I've made that mistake one too many times).

While I have a thing for LBDs, I also have a thing for hats.  Specifically: nice, felt hats.  I bought this one from Urban Outfitters years ago, and I've worn the hell out of it (thankfully that doesn't show in the hat itself).  I'm currently coveting a tan one for summer (like this one here *heart eyes*) and I have the prettiest wine-colored one that I love wearing in the fall and winter.  But, nothing can beat my love for the color black, and this black hat is, like this dress, one of my favorite pieces in my closet.

Now, while these shoes and this bag aren't the type of thing I'd normally go with, I was helping my friend Julia out with some product photos, which is why they made their way into this look! I'm always down to help a friend out, and it always makes things a little more interesting.  It definitely changes things up from what you'd normally see on this blog. :)

What do you think of the change, do you like it? I hope so, because you'll be seeing a lot more of these "collaborations" on the blog coming sooooon. *Spoiler alert*
