And we've finally arrived at part 3 of this series! I hope you all have enjoyed following along with these posts. I know that I've had a lot of fun writing them, and getting to share this experience with you all.
Today's post is going to cover one of the biggest aspects of modeling:
What it's like working with other models.
Now I know if you read other pieces on the internet, people will talk about how needy and high-strung models are, how demanding and arrogant...yada yada yada. Maybe some models are like that, but from what I've experienced, the other models I've worked with have been some of the sweetest, most intelligent, and overall beautiful people that I've ever met.
One of the cool things about this shoot is that Jenny found all of the models through Instagram and blogging. So, it was really cool to be in a setting where all of us girls had a common thread. Whether they were just Instagram bloggers or traditional bloggers, each girl had an eye for style and a gorgeous feed to prove it.
And, I think that's part of the reason why we were all able to bond so quickly. Blogging is often a misunderstood industry. A lot of people, especially those who don't blog themselves, don't realize that it can be an exhausting (but equally rewarding) full-time job, no matter how large or small your platform may be. Some girls had been blogging for years, while others (like myself) were relatively new to the scene. But, we were all able to share unique tips, tricks, and experiences with each other. If we're getting into the nitty-gritty technical side of blogging: things like coding tips, monetization platforms, and even ideal posting times were all things we were able to share with each other.
To be in a room full of driven, motivated individuals who are in the same industry that you are is such a humbling experience. One of the things I love so much about the blogging community is how supportive it is. No girl was there to prove that their blog was better than someone else's. Everyone brought something unique to the table, while encouraging and supporting the other girls around them. And that, I think, is so, so special.
But anyway, moving on from that. ;) When it came down to the actual modeling with the girls, it's a lot of fun! It can be a bit awkward, when you're staring into each other's eyes for several frames, trying hard not to blink or laugh. But overall, it's so much fun. One thing I've learned recently is that the spotlight is most fun when it's shared with others. Sure, taking individual shots is always fun, but it's nothing like taking photos with other people. When others are included in the shots, theres a lot more laughter, a lot less "stress" when it comes to worrying about posing (you'll feed off of each other) and just a lot more fun.
If you want to check out the other girls who were involved in the shoot (which I totally recommend you do) I'll leave all their names and links below:
Be prepared to be inspired when you check out their feeds. So many beautiful girls, so much gorgeous fashion *heart eyes*
And that concludes this little series! I hope you enjoyed it! Did you have a favorite dress from the collection? Let me know!
